Becoming Mrs. Lewis

This 400 page book is a beauty! I recently received it from the Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Fiction Guild and have been admiring it’s cover and black and white maps on the first and last pages of the book.  I know we’re not meant to judge a book from it’s cover, but this cover is certainly one I’ve been admiring–the architecture in the background, the woman’s hair and fashion in the foreground, the deep red of the cover–I’m not sure what part about it appeals to me specifically (perhaps it’s just a mix of it overall), but as silly as it sounds, I’ve just enjoyed looking at this book.

The fact that it is so long is both the reason I haven’t been able to start it yet and one of the reasons I look forward to doing so.  It’s up next on my list, as it’s the story of Joy Davidson and C.S. Lewis, and a story celebrating literature (my favorite kind!).  I know a lot of my friends love C.S. Lewis, and I’ve loved what I’ve read from him, so I look forward to reading this “behind the scenes” fictional account of his and his wife’s love story.  Thomas Nelson is definitely one of my favorite go-to publishers for Christian fiction!
