December Favorites

[Look what I found buried in my drafts folder! Ha! Sorry this wasn’t up earlier!]

Welcome to the last monthly favorites post of 2019! How have you all been liking these? Do they help you discover more songs, books, movies, etc? Have you found any new favorite things? What are some of your favorite things from December? Comment them below!

  • My mom and I watched the documentary released last year about Mr. Rogers, “Won’t You Be My Neighbor”, not to be confused with the Tom Hanks move “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood”.  The documentary went through archived footage, behind-the-scenes, and clips from episodes of Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood, along with commentary from friends, family, and co-workers that told the story of how Mr. Rogers got on TV, what motivated him to start the show, and what he was passionate about.  It was very inspiring and when I did watch the Tom Hanks movie, it added so much more depth.  Both the documentary and movie are phenomenal and I highly recommend them.

  • I also watched the movie “Instant Family” on Prime this month, and found it sweet and realistic and heart-felt.  Yes, there was language and scenes not great for children, but I loved the heart of it and would recommend it to parents and older teens.

I have been really encouraged by Michael Koulianos lately and have loved the simplicity of his message and how it all points back to Jesus.  Very powerful, very simple, very beautiful, very humble, very genuine.

Okay, so sorry this is an eclectic post, but again, it was fermenting in my drafts and I figured it was better to just go ahead and get it out before January is over too! 🙂

Much love,
